Manasa Chenna, Normal Community High School
Manasa is a 15 years old and a sophomore in Normal Community High School. She is involved with Little Free Pantry, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). She is also the social media coordinator of Sophomore Board. She also participates in St. Jude Club and tutor within Peer Leadership. She plans to take the Business path in the future. Her dream school would be University of Michigan. Some hobbies she enjoys are photography, dance, drawing, listening to music and reading.

Shreenija Daggavolu, Normal Community High School
Shreenija has traveled to many places around the world. Traveling has helped her understand diversity and learn many new things. As of hobbies, she enjoys competitive swimming. She has also been playing violin for 5 years. During her free time, she enjoys volunteering for different organizations. She participates in many clubs including Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Student Council, and Math team.

Ronith Dasari, Normal Community High School
Ronith is an extremely hard worker who works persistently to complete all of his work and more. He focuses on the quality of his work rather than speed, so that he can create the best possible work. In addition, he thrives in team environments and is very outgoing.

Janani Dharmarajan, Cornerstone Christian Academy
Janani is a freshman who goes to a small school in a small town. She is an easy-going person who loves having fun and making the people around her happy. She has always loved helping people in small ways but hope to increase her abilities through YGC. She is involved in sports, music, and volunteering, amidst her academics. Volleyball, singing, and volunteering with kids have been her main extracurriculars this year. She usually has high hopes for things she is involved in and hopes that YGC will increase her leadership skills so she can help change our community.

Khushi Galpalli, Bloomington High School
Khushi has participated in many community service events such as the Diwali Food Drive, Ekal Vidyalaya, SEWA Blood drive, For Better Tomorrow Kite Festival and Home Sweet Home. At school, she helped wrap presents for kids during Christmas for Boys & Girls Club. She also plays the guitar and ukulele as a hobby, and loves to sing. She also participates in drama. She participates in IMSA club and also scholastic bowl. She is a high honor roll student and in advanced Math and Spanish at school. She believes that when we actually try to make a difference with what we have (even if it is nothing), it could be everything to someone else.

MacKenna Gravel, Normal Community West High School
MacKenna Gravel is a Junior at Normal West High School where she is a mentor in West’s Freshman Mentoring Program, an Activism co-chair of West’s PRIDE Club, and a member of Governor Pritzker’s Youth Committee. She is a violinist in West’s Chamber Orchestra and the Bloomington Normal Youth Symphony. Outside of school she is in her seventh year of playing lacrosse and frequently participates in activist events. After high school, she plans to double major in political science and environmental science and hope to be an advocate for environmental protection.

Amith Hiremath, Normal Community High School
Amith is currently a Junior at Normal Community High School. His interests include playing tennis and learning programming. In school, he is involved in FBLA, Math team, and Model UN. He also regularly volunteers for Special Olympics Illinois. He is eager to learn how to solve social issues in his community and beyond through the YGC program. In the future he would like to travel the world, helping others as he goes. Amith has always felt fulfilled when he volunteered at Midwest Food Bank, The Children’s Discovery Museum, or a Special Olympics event.

Tapaswini Kodavanti, Normal Community West High School
Tapaswini was born in India but was raised in Toronto, Canada and moved to Bloomington in 3rd grade. Living in Bloomington has exposed her to a multi-cultural environment, being an Indian in the US. She loves to travel and has been all over the country with her family, making cherished memories. She currently a freshman at Normal Community High School and is a part of many extra-curricular activities. In the future, she would like to attend medical school and become a neurologist.

Krithi Kandury, University High School
Krithi is a person who talks to people very easily. She is pretty easygoing, and easy to talk to. She is competitive and will try 110% to achieve one of her goals. She is smart, and she tries to think outside-the-box for many situations. She is empathetic, and can put herself in someone else’s shoes to understand what they are trying to say.

Kyleigh McBride, Normal Community West High School
Kyleigh was born in Hunan, China, but at 11 months old, she was adopted by her forever family and have lived in Illinois ever since. She has gotten involved in her community through running Peers in Action (club) at her school, volunteering at Soar, and getting involved in the special ed community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family & friends, walking her dogs, and watching Netflix.

Harshini Musku, Illinois Math and Science Academy
Harshini has loving and caring parents who always encourage her to volunteer and serve the community. She is currently a sophomore at IMSA (Illinois Math and Science Academy). She completed her early education till 5th grade in India and moved to Bloomington in her 6th grade. She loves solving puzzles and troubleshoot any technical issues at school and home. She assists her younger sister with her studies. She believes that change should start from us and change the world as we wanted to see.

Anusha Nadkarni, Bloomington High School
Anusha Nadkarni is going to be a freshman at BHS in the fall. She loves music, reading, writing, and activism. She is in NIOS (Not In Our School), a club dedicated to improving the school experience of all students. Anyone in her grade will tell you that she has deeply invested in equality for all, regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexuality. She wants justice for all of the downtrodden. For #MeToo, for LBGTQ+, for Black Lives Matter, for #MarchForOurLives, for planet Earth, for DACA Dreamers, for Native Americans, and for everyone in between.

Isha Patel, Normal Community West High School
Isha is a student at Normal West. She plays tennis there and is involved in Key Club. She also likes to volunteer. She currently volunteers at Advocate Bromenn and has previously volunteered at the Children’s Discovery Museum. She is also a very religious person. She likes to teach girls ages 10-12 about her religion on Sundays and she loves getting involved with everyone at her temple. Through her religion, she has been given many opportunities to better herself as a person as well as improve her leadership skills. Giving her best effort is all that matters, the rest is up to God. She believes that she can’t control what others do, she can only control her response to their actions.

Krishiv Sreejith, Evans Junior High School
Krishiv is a friendly and cheerful person who loves music and art. He enjoys hanging out with friends, and family is very important to him. When he is given a task, he tries to put in his best effort. Even on days when he feels low, he tries to be his happy self.

Madison Stevens, Normal Community West High School
Madison has lived in Bloomington-Normal her whole life. She has a loving and caring family. At the start of high school she started getting involved more with clubs like promise council, class boards, marching band, and other groups that have impacted her a great deal.
